What To Watch If You're Obsessed With Horror + Fantasy

'The Shape Of Water' IS SOOO GOOD.

You've probably heard about Mexican filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro and his simultaneously magical + horrific characters! While they aren't exactly scary films, his works involve ghosts, weird and mysterious creatures, and (sometimes) even murder. Here's a list of films if you're looking to spice up your to-watch list:

3. Pan's Labyrinth (2006)

A mysterious faun (Doug Jones) tells her that she is the reincarnation of Princess Moanna, the daughter of the king of the underworld, and tells her that she must complete several tasks in order to go back to her kingdom. She meets a series of *horrible* creatures along the way, including the scary "Pale Man" who eats children.

4. Crimson Peak (2015)

It's a gothic romance starring Tom Hiddleston. An heiress and author named Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) marries Sir Thomas Sharpe (Tom), and they end up living in a "dilapidated mansion" in the province. Soon, Edith is haunted by ghosts, and she discovers the Sharpe family's dark, disturbing secrets.

5. Pinocchio (Coming Soon)

This upcoming film is a dark and *political* retelling of Carlo Collodi's The Adventures of Pinocchio. According to Netflix, the movie is Guillermo del Toro's "lifelong passion project, which he will also write and produce as a stop motion musical." In this version, Pinocchio is "an innocent soul with an uncaring father who gets lost in a world he cannot comprehend."
