Kita Kita has an Indonesian remake!
On Instagram, Kita Kita director Sigrid Andrea Bernardo shared the trailer of the Indonesian remake of the movie called Cita Intu Buta which translates to Love Is Blind.
Posting on Instagram, Sigrid said she became teary-eyed as she watched the film’s trailer.
The Indonesian adaptation of Kita Kita stays faithful to the original plot where a blind woman develops a relationship with a man who helps guide her through her day-to-day life. The only difference is where the film is set. The original film’s setting was in Japan, while the Indonesian remake is set in South Korea.
The 2017 romantic comedy, which stars Alessandra De Rossi and Empoy Marquez, is considered to be the highest-grossing indie film in the Philippines. It had a P10 million budget but ended up raking in over P300 million in the box office.
Cinta Itu Buta will premiere in Indonesian cinemas on October 10.
