Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji's new drama It's Okay To Not Be Okay will be dropping on Netflix on June 20—just 10 days from now. The glimpses we had of the characters from previous teasers did not prepare us for the trailer. The story seems to be much darker—and sadder—than we expected!
We already knew that Gang-tae (Kim Soo Hyun) works at a psychiatric ward and that he lives with his older brother Sang-tae (Oh Jung Se), who has autism. However, it turns out that even as a child, Gang-tae was told that he was responsible for keeping his brother safe! According to Netflix, he even believes that "his parents only had him to make sure someone could take care of Sung-tae." Poor bb.
As it turns out, Sang-tae is a big fan of popular children's book author Mun-yeong (Seo Ye Ji), and he even ends up illustrating for her. That's probably how Mun-yeong and Gang-tae meet!
Mun-yeong is famous for her dark stories and is apparently a fan of sharp knives. She also has an "antisocial disposition." She becomes interested in Gang-tae and feels like they're similar, even though at one point he tells her that he never wants to see her again. "Why live a boring life? I know you want some fun," she tells him.
We also see money scattered in the air, blood dripping on the floor, Mun-yeong sobbing, and Sang-tae shouting while surrounded by people. What other secrets is Mun-yeong keeping from other people? Will Gang-tae end up devoting his whole life to his brother?
