In spite of the lovely news, Iya was hit with a lot of harsh criticism over her exercising routines, according to PEP.ph.
The Kapuso host, who is currently in her second trimester, continues to document her days in the gym–and this commitment of hers is not being taken lightly by some people on the interwebz.
Comments like ‘nasa huli and pagsisisi’ and ‘hinay hinay lang’ have flooded Iya’s IG account.
These comments, however, didn’t slow down Iya one bit! She recently posted her thoughts on the subject and even went on to educate her critics on the benefits of exercising while preggy.
Along with a video of her and a friend during their ‘core training’ session, Iya writes:
Pregnancy is definitely not the time to try and hit new fitness goals but rather about maintenance! ???? If your body was used to an exercise prior to pregnancy then it will be safe to carry on (adjusting intensity accordingly) as long as your body says it's still okay and your doctor approves ????
We were blessed with amazing bodies! It will tell us when we need to slow down (or stop) ? We just have to be sensitive and listen to it. Cheers to the active mommas out there!”
