Zendaya made history on Sunday night when she secured the Emmy in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category for her role as Rue in Euphoria. When her name was announced, the 24-year-old became the youngest woman ever to win it. (Jodie Comer previously held that title when she won last year at 26.)
As soon as Zendaya won, Jennifer Aniston's jaw dropped in excitement and everyone flooded social media with congrats for the truly-deserving star. Some of Z's Euphoria fam, like Hunter Schafer, also watched along and posted their reactions on Instagram Stories. And the following day, Zendaya's costar and ex-boyfriend Jacob Elordi sent some praise her way.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Jacob wrote, "Congratulations captain @zendaya. Bravo" with some black and purple heart emojis. It was short and sweet and a huge deal because this is the first public message he's sent to her since they broke up sometime this year.
A little history lesson on these two: Zendaya and Jacob sparked relationship rumors in August 2019 after a trip to Greece. Sources confirmed they were fully dating by February 2020, the same month those PDA-filled pics from NYC emerged. That said, he's getting to know Kaia Gerber right now and they were spotted hanging out in Los Cabos, Mexico this past weekend.
When Zendaya won her Emmy, she said:
"This is pretty crazy. To the incredible cast and crew of Euphoria, I'm so lucky to go to work with you every day, and I'm inspired by everything you do...I know this feels like a really weird time to be celebrating, but I just want to say that there is hope in the young people."
Keep making history, Z!
