Soulmate Project, James Reid and Nancy McDonie's upcoming online series, got us all giddy when it was first announced on October 4, 2019. I mean, we honestly didn't expect this pairing! However, the rumor mill is saying that the much-awaited project might NOT BE HAPPENING anymore (*insert dramatic gasp here*).
According to a report by PUSH, when James was asked for updates about the show, he replied with, "I can't say too much about that right now. Sorry." When reporters ~pressed~ him for an answer on whether production for the show will still continue, all he said was: "I can't answer that. I can't talk about that."
In early November, the show's writer and director Antoinette Jadaone said that Soulmate Project will be patterned after US and Korean dramas and is set to have 13 episodes. And although there's no exact air date yet, she shared that production is scheduled to take place in 2020.
At that time, Antoinette was still finishing the script. She added: "It's more my kind of process. I write the whole series na tapos na, unlike in teleseryes na hindi mo alam kung kailan siya matatapos. There is more control sa kung ano ang mangyayari sa bawat character, sa story. But also, mas mahirap siya, kasi I realize it's not the same as writing a film script, a screenplay. It's different, it's harder to write a series pala. Pero since andiyan na, gagalingan ko na lang!"
Please make this show happen. We're all hoping for the best!
