Jane De Leon is ~ecstatic~ that the taping for her long-awaited Darna project is finally starting very soon.
In an interview with ABS-CBN showbiz reporter MJ Felipe, the Ang Probinsyano actress talked about how she's feeling as the taping for Darna: The TV Series starts in November.
"Kinikilig ako na excited na kinakaahan, sa totoo lang," she shared.
Jane also mentioned how she's been physically preparing for the role.
"Nag-diet talaga 'ko, nagbawas ako sa carbs. Imagine, nag-one rice a day. More on compound workout exercise yung ginagawa namin ni Coach," she said. A compound workout program involves working multiple muscle groups at the same time.
Based on her IG posts, it looks like Jane is working with fitness coach and content creator, Majah Resuello.

After *two years* of being announced as the new Darna, Jane also revealed that she has finally done a fitting in her Darna costume.
"Actually, nakapag-fit na 'ko ng costume and grabe. Goosebumps, gano'n. Naiyak ako.
"Grabe. Nagpapasalamat ako kay Lord na matutuloy na."
From what we know so far, Iza Calzado will be playing "the first Darna" and Narda's mother in ABS-CBN's upcoming adaptation. Darna was initially planned to be a feature film directed by Jerrold Tarog, but it was postponed indefinitely in August 2020 due to restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. In December 2020, ABS-CBN announced that it would be pushing through with the project as a TV series.
ABS-CBN will be announcing the new director of the series next week.
