Janella Salvador has finally spoken amid rumors that she and Markus Paterson have broken up. Fans have noticed that the two have not posted updates with each other on social media since January.
During the unveiling of a massive Darna mural at ABS-CBN, the actress gave netizens an update on their relationship.
"Markus and I are okay," the actress clarified in an interview. "And I’m aware of the speculations that are going around. Siguro I’m asking people to give us more time, i-respect kung ano man yung nangyayari. Pero okay kami. We’re okay. We’re totally okay."
Janella went on to react to how persistent the rumors are, and appealed to the public to give them their space.
"Siguro hindi na maiiwasan na people will talk," she shared. "Pero ayun nga. I hope people will respect our privacy as of now and eventually naman, kung… Ayon. ‘Yon lang. Respect our privacy muna. But we’re okay."
In an earlier interview with Cinemanews, Markus shared that he and Janella have "a very good relationship with each other."
"As of now, I’m gonna let her do the talking on this status," he added. "But we’re both very good."
On matters of the heart, Markus said, "Ang masasabi ko lang, masaya. Magaan in a lot of ways."
"I’ve come to terms [with] a lot of things this year so far. I just can’t wait to grow more and learn more about everything in life, my craft, relationship, [and] fatherhood. I’m so young and I can’t wait to just become the best version of me."
Janella and Markus went Insta-official with their relationship in September 2020, but have been together since 2019. They introduced their son Jude Trevor Paterson in January 2021.
