After taking a break from showbiz, Janella Salvador has been slowly easing back to her artista life. Currently, the actress-singer is preparing for the role of Valentina in the upcoming Darna series.

In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Janella talked about how special this project is for her, especially since she's been hoping to get a "big break" in her career after giving birth to her baby boy, Jude

Hindi naman ako na-depress but I was praying about it," she recounted. "I was hoping [to] get another big break after giving birth kasi nga may stigma dito.

Later on, the 23-year-old spoke up about the stigma against young moms. According to Janella, she would often receive comments about her being "sayang": "Alam mo kasi, Tito Ogie, may stigma kapag naging nanay ka dito sa Philippines, na ka-age ko, ang daming criticisms na binabatoMeron akong nare-receive na mga comments na, 'Sayang ka. Sayang nanganak ka kaagad.'"

"Doon ako nati-trigger," she shared. "Kasi, hindi naman ako sayang, eh. I’m still me. I’m still who I am. I’m still Janella Salvador. I can still sing. I can still act. I can still work. I can still do everything that I want to do.

After bringing baby Jude into the world, Janella realized, "being a young mom doesn’t mean that my life is over. It just means na it started a bit earlier. That’s it. I’ve never felt more alive.
