5 New Movies To Catch In Theaters This January

It's a whole new decade and we're back to *regular* programming! Wondering what to see in movie theaters during your free time? Here's what's coming to the PH this month:  

1. Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker (January 8)

The last installment to the new trilogy concludes Rey, Poe, Finn, AND Kylo Ren's adventures in a galaxy far, far away. We'll finally know what happens to Rey and Kylo's love-hate relationship, Emperor Palpatine makes a comeback, and we see the late Carrie Fisher as General Leia Organa once again.  

2. Cats (January 8)

Yes, the Cats movie has been getting tons of negative reviews, and whether or not you give it a chance is up to you! ICYMI, the film is based on Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical of the same name. 

3. Mia (January 15) 

This rom-com features an *alcoholic* doctor named Mia (Coleen Garciaand a nerdy forester named Jay (Edgar Allan Guzman). They cross paths when Mia joins a Doctor To The Barrios program to heal from the tragedy of her fiance's death.

4. Jojo Rabbit (January 15)

This dramedy is set in Nazi Germany and stars a 10-year old boy whose imaginary friend is a "cartoon-ish" version of Hitler. The boy's ultimate dream is to be a Nazi, but his plans are *ruined* when he discovers that his mother is hiding a young Jewish girl.

5. Block Z (January 29) 

This proudly Pinoy-made zombie movie stars Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia as college students who must survive after a mysterious ~disease~ takes over their campus.
