  • Jennifer Lopez revealed to GQ that she didn’t make any money off Hustlers.
  • J.Lo claims she produced and acted in the movie for free.

OMG, remember when Hustlers came out in September...aka two whole months ago? It inspired a new generation of sexy pole-dance-class attendees and had you, reader, feeling like you could run any man for his cash because you saw the movie in theaters that many times. But despite your contributions to Hustlers’ box-office numbers, Jennifer Lopez didn’t make much money off the movie at all!

In an interview with GQ, J.Lo revealed that she produced Hustlers for the whopping price of $free.99 simply because she wanted to. “I do things because I love them. I didn’t get paid a whole bunch of money for Hustlers,” she said. “I did it for free and produced it. I bank on myself. That’s the Jenny From the Block. I do what I want, I do what I love. But it was kind of a really different mind-set to get into to play Ramona.”

She also admitted she was extremely proud of being a part of Hustlers since the movie was full of women from top to bottom. It’s no secret that the film industry is mostly made up of men, so the fact that women wrote, produced, and directed the movie is pretty spectacular!

“This is our movie where we run shit. They know it’s all women producers, women director, women writer, all women starring in it,” J.Lo added. “And they kind of took ownership of that. We’ve been watching men take advantage of women in movies a long time. And so it was a fun kind of ride to see the tables turn.”

Welp, the good news here is that J.Lo isn’t in any desperate need for cash. Last time I checked, she is sitting pretty on her $400 million fortune, so what’s one movie, right?
