Last month, the Light Rail Manila Corporation shared photos of Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo’s undercover performance as "blind" singers at the LRT-1. Now, Jennylyn is vlogging about exactly how they pulled off the surprise performance for a cause.
Turns out that it was one of her viewers who suggested that she and Dennis do a street performance in disguise. The couple was super game to do it and headed to the Roosevelt station of LRT-1 on a Saturday morning. To disguise themselves, Jennylyn wrapped a scarf around her head, while Dennis had a cap, sunglasses, and a fake beard.
With a guitarist and keyboardist, the couple performed a few songs including Jennylyn’s own “Kahit Sandali.” A crowd started to gather around Jennylyn and Dennis, and they cheered when the couple revealed themselves.
They performed their cover of “After All,” which is the most-watched video on Jennylyn’s vlog with over 1.8 million hits. You can watch their previous vlog performance below:
Jennylyn and Dennis thanked Vivian and Jericho, the persons with disabilities (PWD) who lent their performance slot at the LRT-1 to the couple. All proceeds from Jennylyn and Dennis’ performance were donated to PWDs.
Jennylyn’s vlog is the latest of “Jen Survives,” a series where she takes on different challenges. She taught zumba and played computer game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in previous videos.
