Fans Are Asking New 'Darna' Director To Change Liza Soberano's Costume

Are they still sticking to the comic book version?

Lead actress Liza Soberano recently had a farewell dinner with former Darna director Erik Matti, who stepped down from the project due to creative differences. And ever since Star Cinema and ABS-CBN announced that filmmaker Jerrold Tarog will be taking on the role of director for the reboot, the Twitterverse has been very vocal about what they want to see in the film.

There were some who wanted him to start working on it ASAP, to which Jerrold replied that he was still studying the scripts (yes, scripts, plural).

One tweet, in particular, read: "Direk, gandahan po niyo, 'wag yung chippy-chippy [cheap] lang, ha. Tagal namin hinintay yan, eh. At please 'wag padadala sa dikta ng 'di nakakatulong sa project. At yung costume po wag naman bikini. Millennial na po tayo. Like Wonder Woman, nag-iba na rin costume; sexy pero 'di bastusin. Praying for you po."

Jerrold responded: "Will do my best. Yung costume let's see kung anong requirements ng may ari ng intellectual property. Also, masarap ang Chippy although mas Tortillos akong tao."

Some of the replies said the opposite, asking the director to stick to the OG comic book version of the costume: a two-piece suit and helmet.
