Actor John Lloyd Cruz just joined a four-man art exhibit at the West Gallery In Quezon City. Using his real name Idan Cruz, the actor-artist is showcasing his latest photo artwork captures in a series entitled “Void.”
The photographs use the interesting contrast of light and shadow, space and vastness, to push his concept forward. On display at the exhibit are artwork of his with titles like “Rigorous Enlightenment,” “Undone,” and “Lick Your Wounds.” Are we seeing a theme here? We’ve come to know John Lloyd as Idan, an artist of depth and drama, meaning and mood—from his photographs to the recently rumored poem he allegedly wrote for his son.
So, how much will you need to take (a) John Lloyd home? Well, the rates of his pieces are swak-to-salary and start at a doable P1,000 to P8,000 for unframed pics. The more complex photoboxes, though, start at P20,000.
This isn’t the first time that John Lloyd has exhibited his artwork. The avid art collector introduced his Idan identity during a breakthrough mixed media showcase in 2017. Since then, we’ve seen him swing by shows and exhibits. These moments have become some of the few times that we’ve spotted the elusive actor out, since he’s been on a showbiz hiatus for a couple of years now.
John Lloyd’s current show with fellow artists Tatong Torres, Kawayan de Guia, and Kaloy Sanchez will run until March 30, 2019. West Gallery is allocated at 47 West Avenue, Quezon City. Drop in to get up close and personal with Idan. Who knows? You might even get to catch the artist during your gallery visit.
