Reviews by film critics and the showbiz press aren't good enough for Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto: they secretly watch screenings of their movies to see the raw reactions of moviegoers.
At the pocket press conference for their latest Star Cinema film, I Love You, Hater, Joshua revealed that they slip into different cinemas, ranging from the high-end ones to ones that are "pang-masa."
Julia admits to feeling nervous every time they release a new movie. "Ang nagpapanerbyos sa akin, first and foremost, is if my performance will be appreciated kasi ngayon ang dami nang critics, and they watch because they want to see a performance that will love them, that will touch them." She admits to having anxiety and panic attacks, but adds, "I remind myself that I have to stop worrying and start trusting the Lord kasi siya naman ang bahala sa lahat. That is when I take a pause and I pray."
I Love You, Hater is JoshLia's fourth film together, and Julia reminisces about their first press conference.
I Love You, Hater shows in cinemas on Wednesday, July 11.
