On March 27 of this year, a blogger with the Twitter handle @rodmagaru wrote on his Twitter account, "Ang kay Julia ay kay Julia" without tagging anyone. Actress Julia Barretto, using her own Twitter account, reposted the message on April 5, accompanied by a couple of emojis. What followed next were a slew of comments that mostly revolved around Julia's love team with actor Joshua Garcia. The netizens were either fans of JoshLia or fans of actress Loisa Andalio, who was Joshua's former love-team partner.
Joshua and Loisa were paired onscreen after their participation in the reality show Pinoy Big Brother: All In (2014). Their love team was called LoiShua. Joshua and Loisa are currently in the TV series The Good Son. Loisa is now being linked to actor Ronnie Alonte.
Here are some of the comments from the netizens:
The Twitter war came after Joshua Garcia was caught in a controversry where he allegedly exchanged a private message with an Instagram user named @danerhea. Joshua has responded to the allegations, telling PEP.ph that he and Julia have dealt with the issue: “Parang hindi ko na kailangang sabihin kasi parang personal na namin 'yon. Sa trabaho ako naka-focus kaysa sa mga negative [na bagay]."
Joshua and Julia have also assured their fans that everything is okay when they exchanged these Tweets in March:
Julia's Message to Fans
After a long heated exchange from netizens, Julia broke her silence. On April 5, Julia wrote on Twitter, "What’s all this fan war about? I’m so confused. How’d it lead to that? I was pertaining to the rumors spreading about Josh and me, and some people managed to make more stories up. I’m 21, not 12. Stop making two people who are okay, fight. Stop it with the drama." She added, "Stop pitting women against each other. It’s not cute."
