Julie Anne San Jose just went international.
The singer-actress was featured on an electronic billboard in New York's famous Times Square. OMG!
Julie Anne is actually one of the international artists featured on Spotify's "EQUAL" campaign, which aims to "femme-power" women all over the world. That's because her single "FREE"—under Universal Records—includes powerful messages on clearing your mind and setting yourself free. Julie Anne joins the likes of Ariana Grande, David Guetta, and Doja Cat on the playlist, among others. Wow.
The "EQUAL" program aims to support female artists from all over the world to "foster equity for women in audio." The project, which was launched on April 29, jumps off from the streaming platform's EQUAL International Women's Day campaign in April which featured a "playlist hub for female artists and podcasters."
"WE MADE IT TO TIMES SQUARE, NEW YORK!!!" Julie Anne wrote on IG. "Just SURREAL. Big thank you, @spotify! This is a dream come true!"
"Thank you, everyone, for the undying support and love! Please continue to support all artists from around the world by checking out the @Spotify Equal Playlist and listening to the music of all these amazing and talented women."
"I couldn’t have made it here without you guys! Maraming, maraming salamat at mahal ko kayong lahat!"
"FREE" was actually a collab between producers based in the US and in the Philippines. Julie Anne also co-wrote the song with two other composers.
Congrats, Julie Anne!
