While most K-dramas are filmed in the Land of the Morning Calm, various series were also shot in other countries and they feature scenic locations. It's proof of the dedication that Korean production companies put into their work!

1. Descendants Of The Sun - Greece

Can you believe it's been six years since this drama aired? The characters played by Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo met in the fictional country of Urk and some scenes were taken in South Korea and Greece. If you have watched this series (I mean, who didn't?), you probably won't forget the iconic shipwreck where they filmed a lot of kilig scenes. The filming locations were in Arachova Greece and Navagio Beach.

2. Encounter - Cuba

We've got another K-drama starring Song Hye Kyo and this time, she's alongside Park Bo Gum! Encounter centers around the romance between a young free-spirited man and a rich divorcee. Their love story started when destiny brought them together. This series has a very sincere plot and what makes it more enticing is the cinematography that featured the beautiful country of Cuba.

3. Crash Landing On You - Switzerland

Crash Landing On You is still giving us all the ~feels~! Who would forget the iconic scene of Yoon Se Ri (Son Ye Jin) paragliding and accidentally landing in North Korea where she met Ri Jeong Hyeok (Hyun Bin)?  Flashback scenes took place in the spectacular country of Switzerland and specifically featured destinations such as First Flieger,  Lindenhof, Lake Lungern, Munsterbrucke, Sigriswil Bridge, and Lake Broenz.

4. The Legend Of The Blue Sea - Spain

From the beginning, you can already see that The Legend Of The Blue Sea was filmed in a *different* place. The characters of Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun crossed paths in the European country, Spain. The production not only featured Barcelona but the team also went to Girona and Coruña. With an interesting storyline that takes you back to the Joseon era, this K-drama is definitely not for you to miss!

5. Goblin - Canada

Stunning in every way, Goblin is a highly-recommended K-drama to watch. Not only for the stellar production but the storyline will surely leave a mark on your heart! Remarkable scenes of the series were filmed in Quebec, Canada. The cinematography gave justice to the scenic filming location making it more enticing for the viewers. Combined with ~beautiful~ OSTs—now, that's a whole level of experience.

6. Shopping King Louis - France

Just from the title, you can already create an overview in your mind that the story will center around a *shopaholic* character. The plot is all about Kang Ji Sung or Louis (Seo In Guk) who spent his life growing up all by himself in France. Having the privilege to splurge on any stuff that he wants, he's definitely living the luxurious life that most of us wanted. Of course, who wouldn't want to easily check out an item without worrying about the price? In addition to the well-written storyline, the K-drama is also a treat because of the majestic landscapes of Northern France. It specifically featured a gorgeous castle called Château de Bourron.

8. Doctor Stranger - Hungary

If you're just new to watching K-dramas, you will probably hear your friends suggesting this one. Doctor Stranger was filmed in Hungary and features a variety of the country's noteworthy destinations. It will let you witness the breathtaking beauty of Budapest, Hungary just from the comfort of your TV or mobile screen.  Some remarkable spots in the series include Chain Bridge and River Danube.

9. Misaeng - Jordan

If you're looking for a K-drama with a high degree of romance to the watch, this one's not what you're looking for—but nonetheless, it's still worth checking out! Misaeng showed several locations in Jordan. The series immediately begins by showing the incredible Wadi Rum Canyons. The story revolves around wanting to break free from a job in order to explore more. The characters brilliantly delivered a strong performance that will make you more invested in watching it.

Imagine a series filmed in not just one, but two foreign countries: That screams *budget*! In fact, Vagabond is one of the most highly-budgeted K-dramas released in 2019. The constant suspense and intense scenes of the drama will make you want to finish it in just one sitting.
