Reel and real-life couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla were rumored to be engaged a month ago during their trip to Japan, but in reality, they were there to shoot a special project for the Japanese tourism board!
In the first episode of their #KathNielLovesJapan travel series set in Hiroshima (which was released on February 28), Kath and DJ toured castles, cooked yummy Japanese pancakes called okonomiyaki, tried out kimonos, and went to an old Japanese-style cafe where Kath secretly wrote a ~super kilig~ letter for her boyfriend!
In the video, we saw Kath and DJ near the Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site popular for its "floating" torii gate. At sunset (sooo perfect), Kath said, "Tangi, I have a gift for you! Read it!"
Daniel opened the letter and read aloud: "Hi, Bal. This is going to be our best year together. Thank you for all the love you've given me. I promise to love and stay with you forever, I love you so much, Tangi." The couple hugged and DJ gave Kath a kiss on the cheek.
Guess what? She also gave him matching Kokeshi dolls that resembled the two of them! Awwww.
