Hallyu fans living in a tropical country like the Philippines have one thing in common whenever we watch winter scenes in K-dramas: We imagine what it’s like to experience the world drenched in white with delicate snow falling all around us. Not to mention the stylish clothes we rarely ever get to wear—boots, trench coats, and scarves. For some reason, the cold weather, coupled with the twinkling lights of the holiday season, makes the air seem a little bit more romantic than usual.
If we could only pack our bags, hop on a plane, and fly to South Korea right now! But because we can’t, we are giving you the next best thing—a list of nakakakilig K-drama winter moments to rewatch over and over again. Warning: You’ll probably want someone to hug by the end of this list!
Romantic K-drama moments set in winter
1. When Bae Suzy hugged Lee Jong Suk after he saved her in While You Were Sleeping
While You Were Sleeping is a drama filled with suspense, but the romantic scenes made sure to keep us just as excited. Episode one shows us a heart-stopping scene where Jung Jae Chan (Lee Jong Suk) purposely hits the car that Nam Hong Joo (Bae Suzy) is riding so he can change her future. This unfolded to a beautiful, snowing scene of Hong Joo slowly approaching Jae Chan and hugging him. If we can hug Lee Jong Suk while it’s snowing, we wouldn’t mind our cars getting wrecked, either!

2. When Jung Hae In *tried* to put his arm around Son Ye Jin but couldn’t in Something In The Rain
This drama has so many sweet scenes that our noona hearts can’t contain our feels! Episode two shows us a truly adorable moment where Seo Joon Hee (Jung Hae In) and Yoon Jin Ah (Son Ye Jin) are walking together one winter night. Joon Hee tries to shoot his shot by putting an arm around Jin Ah’s shoulders but he couldn’t find the courage to pull through and chickens out at the end. He’s so smitten with her that we can practically see hearts falling down instead of snow, but Jin Ah is oblivious as she keeps talking about the old places they usually go to. Shy Jung Hae In is too cute for words!

3. When Nam Joo Hyuk took care of Lee Sung Kyung even after a fight in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo
Not long after Kim Bok Joo (Lee Sung Kyung) and Jung Joon Hyung (Nam Joo Hyuk) got together, they had a petty fight because of jealousy in Episode 13. Bok Joo got jealous over Joon Hyung taking care of his ex-girlfriend, Song Shi Ho, who also happens to be Bok Joo’s roommate. She started acting strange and became quiet while dense Joon Hyung told silly jokes which made her angrier. The situation blew up into a fight and the couple ended up not speaking to each other.
However, the way Joon Hyung tried to make up with Bok Joo made K-drama fans swoon! Bok Joo joins a protest and takes a break to massage her cold feet when Joon Hyung shows up with heat packs and puts them on her feet. He also removes his own coat and scarf and gives them to her silently. And then finally asks her to please take care of herself before leaving when Bok Joo’s teammates saw them. Almost no words were spoken in this scene, but it showed how much Joon Hyung cares for Bok Joo even when she wasn’t speaking to him.

4. When Yoo Seung Ho confessed to Chae Soo Bin before pressing reset in I Am Not A Robot
Remember that fuzzy blanket we told you to grab earlier? Sorry, but you might use that to wipe away your tears if you don’t have tissues ready because this scene will rip your heart out. Kim Min Kyu (Yoo Seung Ho) has fallen in love with Aji-3 (Chae Soo Bin), the robot companion sent to him as a demo by the Santa Maria team. Circumstances led him to have to reset Aji-3 which means he needs to erase all the memories they had together without knowing that Aji-3 is actually not a robot but Jo Ji Ah. Over several episodes, we have seen the two of them falling in love for real. But now, we witness Min Kyu telling Aji-3 that he loves her with tears streaming down his face and sobbing hard when she said that every single moment she spent with him made her happy. It’s a heart-wrenching goodbye as we see the snow falling hard outside the mansion’s window.

5. When Kim Soo Hyun stopped time to kiss Jun Ji Hyun in My Love From The Star
One of the classic and most memorable winter moments in a K-drama is this kissing scene from My Love From The Star. After a stinging rejection by Do Min Joon (Kim Soo Hyun), Cheon Song Yi (Jun Ji Hyun) walks away and cries her heart out in Episode 11. The revelation in the epilogue will make you squeal as it shows Min Joon’s real feelings towards Song Yi when he stopped time while she was walking away from him to hold her hand and kiss her. We can’t help but love this drama and wish we had a winter encounter with an alien as handsome as Kim Soo Hyun, too!

6. When Hyun Bin surprised Son Ye Jin during Christmas in Crash Landing On You
Of course, who would forget this moment? After going back to South Korea, Yoon Se Ri (Son Ye Jin) spends the holidays longing for the times she was with Ri Jeong Hyuk (Hyun Bin) in North Korea. As she walks the streets with a somber face in contrast with the festive city lights, Jeong Hyuk suddenly appears in front of her. Time seems to slow down, and she only sees Jeong Hyuk in the crowd walking towards her. Se Ri is speechless and she can only stare at Jeong Hyuk in shock. She can’t believe he’s really there. We’ll take a surprise Christmas gift like Hyun Bin anytime, too!
