Hours after the shooting incident involving Kim Chiu and her van in Quezon City, the actress shared in an Instagram post that she and her companions are safe and okay. “Papa Jesus protected us. I don’t [know] what really happened—mistaken identity? I guess? Napag-trip-an? This is a bad joke.”
She recalled that she was on the way to work at around 6:00 a.m. today, March 4. “I was asleep in my car then I heard several gunshots—eight to be exact. I was shocked and asked my driver what happened. Then I saw this bullet on the windshield where my head [had been resting]. Buti nakahiga ako [when it happened]. Paano kung tinuloy kong magbasa ng script?”
Kim is understandably very shaken by the incident. “I was so scared. I don’t know what to feel right now. Wala naman akong kaaway or kaatraso. Why me? Kung sino man ang gumawa nito, Diyos na ang bahala sa inyong dalawa. Sana tiningnan niyo muna ang plate number bago niyo pinaulanan ng bala ang kotse ko. But at the end of the day, inisip ko na lang na walang nasaktan sa amin. God protected us. Salamat po.”

She thanked loved ones and fans for checking up on her. Though she can’t answer phone calls and texts at the moment, she said she appreciates the concern.
Earlier this morning, reports said two gunmen on a motorcycle fired at Kim’s van at the corner of Katipunan Avenue and C.P. Garcia Avenue in Diliman, Quezon City. She was with her driver and personal assistant.
