Ah, Kim Da Mi. We were all introduced to her in the hit 2020 drama Itaewon Class as the genius *sociopath* who sports a blond dip-dye hairstyle. A year after, she's back with another K-drama and she's just as feisty as ever! It seems like Da Mi's characters are always fearless and badass, 'no? We totally get it—she's the best at portraying roles that show how you're always the main character of your life.

Da Mi has always wanted to act since she was young and although others raised an eyebrow when she told them about this, she remained determined in pursuing the field. And boy, all of her efforts paid off! Da Mi bagged the lead role in her first-ever K-drama stint, was given the Best New Actress award at the prestigious Baeksang Arts Awards, and was chosen among 1,500 hopefuls for a movie audition. Impressive right? Check out Da Mi's K-dramas and movies and get ready to be her fan:

Early Projects

1. Marionette (2018)

Under the mystery and thriller genre, Marionette tells the story of a high school teacher named Min Ah (Lee Yoo Young) who is living a peaceful life and will soon become a bride. One day, she receives a text message from a man who sent a photo of her where she's undressed. With the help of a former detective, she's set to find the criminal. Da Mi plays the young Min Ah in this movie.

2. The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion (2018)

Yup, she starred in two thriller films in a single year! Here, Da Mi showcases her versatility as the genetically-engineered Ja Yoon. She lives on a farm with her foster parents and everything was going fine until she met the people from her past. The once innocent Ja Yoon turns into a ruthless woman who discovers that she has extraordinary strength. The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion is a bloody masterpiece where you'll get to see Da Mi and Choi Woo Shik as sworn enemies.

3. Itaewon Class (2020)

The webtoon-based K-drama that earned Da Mi a Baeksang tropy, Itaewon Class follows the life of Park Saeroyi (Park Seo Joon) and how he was able to achieve his goals. Not without setbacks and villains, ofc! Saeroyi was stepped on by a self-made food company CEO but he's determined to bring him down with the help of his crew. Da Mi transforms into Jo Yi Seo, the manager of Saeroyi's resto-bar with an IQ of 162. She's basically good at everything she does and despite being labeled as a sociopath, Yi Seo only has the best intention for her loved ones.

4. Our Beloved Summer (2020)

Da Mi and Woo Shik shippers, please all rise—after murdering each other in The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion, they're now an ex-couple in the rom-com Our Beloved Summer! They still argue (a lot, LOL) in this drama but there are more romantic scenes compared to their first project together. Da Mi portrays the PR expert Kook Yeon Soo who was *forced* to reunite with Choi Woong (Woo Shik) when their old documentary went viral online. Apart from getting that dose of kilig, you'll also be able to relate to their experiences as young adults.

Upcoming Projects

5. The Witch 2 (TBA)

Cliffhanger no more! The Witch's sequel is confirmed and although the plot is not yet announced, we're pretty sure that it's going to tell the backstory of Ja Yoon and the people who haunted her (manifesting Woo Shik's cameo!). Another thing that we're positive about: Lee Jong Suk will make a special appearance thanks to the movie's director whom he's close with.

6. Hello, My Soulmate (TBA)

A remake of the 2016 Chinese film SoulMate, this upcoming movie revolves around two friends who first met when they were 13 years old. Expect discussions on love, friendship, separation, and longing in Hello, My Soulmate with Da Mi, Jeon Seo Nee, and Byeon Woo Seok as the cast members.
