Philippine candidate Leren Mae Bautista was crowned second runner-up at Miss Globe 2019 today (Philippine time) in Ulcinj, Montenegro. Alejanda Diaz De Leon Soler from Mexico was named Miss Globe, and Carla Jean Lares from Trinidad and Tobago was first runner-up.
In the Q&A portion, Leren said she aims to use the platform to raise awareness to protect the planet. “We could start within ourselves. We could start with small things by volunteering in our communities, by picking up the trash and throwing it in the right bin, and by conserving our water. [As] Mother Teresa once said, 'Not all of us can do great things, but all of us can do small things with great love.’”
Leren, 26, hails from Los Baños, Laguna. She was named Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific International and Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International in 2015, according to Philstar.com.
In the past, Philippine candidates Ann Colis (2015) and Maricar Balagtas (2001) were crowned Miss Globe.
