I credit pop culture for playing a huge part in my formative years, specifically Sex And The City. I know I might've been a bit *too young* when I first watched the show (I was probably 10 or 11), but whatever—in the ultra-conservative all-girls Catholic school I went to, it served as my informal introduction to sex education and feminism. You see, SATC creator Darren Star wrote flawed yet exceptionally driven women whose exciting romantic lives and glamorous lifestyles were only a bonus. What made them—Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte—my childhood heroes were that they were strong, independent, "I-give-no-fucks" women who lived their lives no matter what society dictated of them. (Makes sense why I ended up in Cosmo, no? *wink*)
That's why my heart skipped a beat when I got the amazing news that Darren's newest series, Emily In Paris, would be airing real soon. Even better? It'll be exclusively distributed on Netflix. I've been keeping tabs on Emily In Paris ever since the show's star, the beyond beautiful Lily Collins, announced she was filming on location in France last year. I knew next to nothing about the show but was excited enough because it was a Darren Star creation. Period. But now, we finally have major deets for us to get excited about Emily In Paris—including when it'll drop on Netflix! Read on below:
So, what's Emily In Paris about?
Netflix describes the rom-com series as such: "Emily, an ambitious twentysomething marketing executive from Chicago, unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris when her company acquires a French luxury marketing company—and she is tasked with revamping their social media strategy. Emily's new life in Paris is filled with intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles winning over her work colleagues, making friends, and navigating new romances."
