Liza Soberano was recently launched as one of the teen ambassadors of Camp Courage, a Johnson & Johnson youth project aimed at helping female teens build self confidence.
In an interview with TV Patrol, the actress revealed her aspirations to follow in the footsteps of actress-turned-UN ambassador Emma Watson, “Gusto ko parang [ako si] Emma Watson. I believe I was born to make a difference and to help people especially the young ones because those are the ones that need guidance.”
It’s no wonder Liza opted out of the typical artista debut—with full media coverage—that fellow teen queens Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Barretto had.
“Ayoko po talaga ng debut. Nervous po ako ‘pag maraming tao. Di po ako kumportable [suotin] ‘yung mga ball gowns and everything so I’d rather keep it simple and nasa comfort zone ko. Kasi birthday ko, so I should enjoy. Ayoko ‘yung ma-stress ako sa debut ko,” she adds.
So instead of having a fancy party, Liza decided to spend her birthday doing four charity events next year. "Apat kasi January 4 'yung birthday ko po. And then siguro intimate party lang," she said.
