All The 2020 Concerts In Manila That Have Been Canceled So Far

You would know by now that we're always keen on sharing details about the latest concerts with you. 2020 had several shows lined up, but due to the spread of COVID-19 or the novel coronavirus, some artists have chosen to cancel or postpone their concerts for the safety of their fans and crew. 

Here are the postponed or canceled Manila concerts and shows for 2020:

Green Day

Original date and venue: March 14 at the Mall of Asia Arena
New date and venue: TBA

Rock band Green Day announced they were performing in Manila on March 14, but decided to cancel the show, citing health and travel concerns related to COVID-19. They also canceled their shows in Bangkok, Taipei, Hong Kong, Seoul, Osaka, and Tokyo. They did say to hold on to tickets, as they're working to reschedule the tour. Concert organizer MMI Live is yet to release info on possible new dates or refund instructions.

Avril Lavigne

Original date and venue: May 20 at the Araneta Coliseum
New date and venue: TBA

On March 1, punk princess Avril Lavigne announced that the Asian leg of her Head Above Water world tour would no longer be pushing through. Along with the canceled Manila stop, she also canceled four shows in China, five in Japan, and one in Taiwan and Hong Kong. According to concert producer Wilbros Live, tickets will still be valid on the new datewhich they have yet to announce—alongside refund options for those who cannot make it to the rescheduled date.

Original date and venue: April 2 at the Mall of Asia Arena
New date and venue: TBA

The "Young Dumb & Broke" singer broke hearts on Valentine's Day by announcing that he would postpone his Asian tour dates in Manila, Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Seoul, Mumbai, and Bangalore. While Midas Promotions said they are working to reschedule the concert, they will start refunding tickets on March 5 at the SM Tickets website and SM Ticket outlets nationwide.

If you thought you could relive the One Tree Hill era of your youth with Jimmy Eat World, we're sad to say it might not happen this year. Skesh Entertainment is issuing refunds at points of purchase, but are still working to bring the band here sometime in the future.

98 Degrees

Original date and venue: February 25 at the Mall of Asia Arena
New date and venue: May 21 at the Mall of Asia Arena

Boy band 98 Degrees was supposed to have shows in Manila, Cebu, and Davao on the month of February, but have postponed it to the month of May. They will still perform in SMX Convention Center Davao on May 16 and in Waterfront Hotel & Casino Cebu City on May 23.

Running Man: A Decade of Laughter

Original date and venue: February 9 at the Mall of Asia Arena
New date and venue: June 21 at the Mall of Asia Arena

Cast members Yoo Jae Suk, Haha, Ji Suk Jin, Kim Jong Kook, Lee Kwang Soo, Song Ji Hyo, Jeon So Min, and Yang Se Chan of the South Korean variety show Running Man was supposed to come to Manila on February 9 for a fan meet, but rescheduled to June 21 instead. PULP Live World announced that all tickets purchased will still be valid on the new date.

HYUKOH

New date and venue: June 29 at the New Frontier Theater

Karpos Multimedia announced that South Korean indie band HYUKOH would come to Manila on April 4, but postponed it to June 29. Tickets bought will still be valid on the new concert date, but those who are unavailable on the new date can request a refund.

Wanderland

Original date and venue: March 7 to 8 at the Filinvest City Event Grounds
New date and venue: TBA

The annual music festival saw artists pulling out due to travel restrictions but decided to push through by getting other acts to fill in the slots. The festival's social media account has even posted videos of the stage already set up at the Filinvest City Event Grounds, and headliner Foals was already in the country. All lights were green, but due to the directive of the City Government of Muntinlupa not to hold the festival, Karpos Multimedia had no choice but to postpone Wanderland to a later date. According to the event organizer, refund details will be up soon, and that they're still working to reschedule. In their words, "It's not game over, Wanderers. We're just at a time out."
