Anyway, now that you’re up to speed, you might want to know the latest development: the full formal name of Queen Elizabeth’s youngest great-grandchild. The palace just announced the baby’s name and predictably, it’s equal parts adorable and sentimental.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex named their baby...
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor!!!
How cute is that? Before we got official word, there were rumors galore of what this little bb would be called. Bookies put a lot of money on the baby being named Victoria, Alice, or Diana if a girl and Albert, Arthur, or Philip if a boy.
Welp, now we know a lot of people lost some money on that, but at least it’s official, right? Most of those names were in the running because they have strong royal family ties—especially Diana, for obvious reasons.
The royals have a ridiculously long history of naming babies after older family members, so it’s not exactly a shocker that Baby Sussex’s name has history to it.
And now that Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is here and happy, healthy, and named, he, Harry, and Meghan will head back to the newly renovated Frogmore Cottage, which is no longer the fixer-upper it was originally (thank goodness). Talk about a happy ending.
