Entertainment reporter Lolit Solis has apologized to Mikee Morada and Alex Gonzaga after claiming that they recently suffered from a miscarriage. Lolit shared her statement on Instagram and started off by addressing her bashers: "Why give me that importance of wasting your energy hating, defaming, and bullying a 74-year-old woman of no substance? Hindi ko talaga makuha ang logic. Ako si Lolita Solis na gusto gusto ko lang magkaroon ng mental exercise by writing, I enjoy IG, I enjoy reading your comments, puwede kaya na pag binasa niyo ang anuman isinulat o IG ko, can you please don't put malice dito?"
She went on to say she didn't intend to hurt anyone with her previous post, and said, "Wala akong intention to hurt or cause pain. So SORRY if ito ang naging dating kay Alex Gonzaga at sa kanyang asawa. I will honestly say na I appreciate the very respectful comment of Alex Gonzaga's husband. Hindi iyon ang motibo ko, hindi iyon ang gusto ko. If I have offended and hurt you, I deeply apologize. I understand what you mean na very trying ang experience na ito para sa inyong mag-asawa."
Lolit closed off her message by saying she hoped her bashers used "more respectable words" towards her instead of defaming her online. You can read Lolit's full statement here.
Politician Mikee Morada took it upon himself to respond to miscarriage rumors about his wife Alex Gonzaga. He commented on entertainment reporter Lolit Solis' post about the matter on Instagram, which contained numerous allegations about the social media star and her family.
On October 9, Lolit stated she heard the 33-year-old had a miscarriage. "Naawa naman ako sa balita na nakunan daw si Alex Gonzaga. Kasi nga worried na worried ang mga followers niya at gusto malaman ang tutoong nangyari," she wrote.
After publicizing the unconfirmed miscarriage, Lolit commented on how the Gonzaga family allegedly planned to address the situation: Through a vlog.
"May nagsabi na sa vlog na lang daw ni Alex o Toni Gonzaga hintayin. Para bang ginawa ng business pati malungkot na balita. Siyempre para sa sinuman babae very sad na mawala ang baby mo, lalo at first baby nilang mag-asawa," she reasoned.
Lolit then defended her publicizing the news, saying that it would be "petty" for Alex and Toni's mother Pinty Gonzaga to be angered by it.
Very petty ‘di ba? Dahil lang sa vlog pati ganitong balita itatago? Eh married naman si Alex, at paano itatago iyon medical record?"
At the end of her post, Lolit sent well wishes to Alex: "Basta for us, get well soon Alex, at be strong. Magkakaruon ka pa uli ng baby, we pray for that. Amen."
Lolit's post gained traction online, but the Gonzaga family did not respond to her directly. Instead, it was Alex's husband Mikee Morada who commented on the entertainment reporter's post to defend his wife.
He expressed he was "hurt" and "dismayed" by Lolit's words and asked her to respect their privacy as a married couple. Mikee and Alex have been husband and wife since January 2021.
"Mam masakit at nakakadismaya naman," the Lipa City councilor wrote. "Hindi lang patungkol kay Alex ang inyong sinulat, tungkol ito sa amin mag-asawa. Kaya hinihingi ko ang inyong pag-respeto."
Mikee also appealed for Lolit not to spread information about such a sensitive matter. He said, "Huwag po kayong gumawa ng kwento sa ganitong klaseng sitwasyon lalo't hindi niyo naman alam ang totoong pangyayari. Salamat."
Alex has not addressed the situation personally, although a tweet she posted on the morning of October 11 is presumed to allude to it. The YouTuber wrote, "Good morning! This is a reminder that there are people who are fighting their own personal battles silently, everyday. Please be kind [emoji]".
