Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez assured funnyman Steve Harvey she won't be suing him after he messed up the finale of last month's Miss Universe pageant.
Host Steve Harvey misread the announcement card and named Miss Colombia the winner, and then seconds later, he had to correct his mistake and apologize.
Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was named the eventual winner amid the confusion of the pageant finale, as Ariadna broke down onstage.
Taping a recent appearance on Steve's U.S. talk show, the Latina revealed she had been approached by several legal eagles after the nightmare, but decided it wasn't classy to file a suit against the host.
"I'm not gonna take your mansion," she told the comic. "Now you can breathe... I never thought of suing, you know, that's not me. That's not who I am. A lot of lawyers wanted me to do that... They only want publicity. I'm not doing it."
During their often tense get together, Miss Colombia poked fun at Steve, telling him, "You have to learn how to read cards," and joking, "You wanted me to win, you know."
She told Steve, "If you see the videos, I was laughing because I thought you were about to make a joke."
Steve responded: "That would have been the worst damn joke I ever wrote in my life!"
The host told Ariadna he still hasn't been able to watch the footage from the Miss Universe pageant, stating, "Every time they show it, I turn away", and his guest admitted she could understand how he feels.
"The first thing I did after the big mistake was, like, get into my parents' room and watch Miss Universe... I was like, 'This is a nightmare... I need to see this again'. It was horrible. It was hard to watch. It really was."
But the meeting ended on a high with Ariadna revealing she had forgiven Steve for his flub. Fighting back tears, the humbled host said, "You gave me a great moment. I thank you for forgiveness. I really, really needed that."
He then joked about inviting her to join his family, revealing his two sons are single - and he'd love her to start dating one of them.
