The Voice Of The Philippines alum Morissette Amon had an extra-special trip to Japan where she had the rare opportunity of meeting Alan Menken, the composer behind Disney’s  Aladdin, and Will Smith, who plays Genie in the 2019 live-action remake of the film.

In the video, an excited Morissette revealed, “You’re not going to believe it, but I think Disney just arranged for me to meet up with legendary composer Alan Menken, and the Genie himself, Will Smith!”

Alan sat behind a piano singing a tune with Will looking on as Morissette entered the room. Alan said, “Lea [Salonga] told me about you.” Morissette said, “A lot of the kids in the Philippines grew up to your music, myself included.”

Morissette then asked Alan what it was like working on the film again after 27 years, to which Alan replied, “It’s a whole new world! It’s wonderful, you know, and it’s kinda more contemporary.”

Will said, “I heard there’s a specific song from this movie that you do really well.” Will referred to Morissette and Darren Espanto’s localized version of “A Whole New World,” which was used to promote the movie in the Philippines.

Will, who requested that he’d like to hear Alan and Morissette sing the song together, said, "I know I'm supposed to be the Genie, but, you know, can the Genie have a wish? Because when you have the master and the lovely voice of Morissette here, I mean, I would like to make the wish that I hear the two of you perform the song together.”

Morissette accommodated Will’s wish and she and Alan sang a few bars of the song. Alan was impressed with Morissette’s singing and said that she hit some great notes in the song.
