K-pop fans know that Twitter is the go-to source when it comes to current trends and the latest news. This is where they run stan accounts (a Twitter community where users share their opinion and ~feelings~ about their faves without revealing their personal identity), connect with their favorite idols and other fans, and express their undying love for the genre.
PH fans, in particular, tweet *a lot* about K-pop on a daily basis: In a research done by Twitter in collaboration with K-pop radar, the Philippines ranked fourth when it comes to tweet volume about K-pop. We are totally not surprised.

According to the social media platform, there were over 6.1 billion tweets worldwide related to K-pop in the past 12 months, and the numbers continue to rise as K-pop stars flock to this space to release exclusive content, or share their daily lives behind the limelight.
We know you follow a lot of idols on Twitter, but have you wondered who has the most number of followers? Fear not because we have the answers! (P.S. We're only talking about individuals here, no group accounts yet!)
Here are Twitter’s 10 most-followed K-pop artists as of writing:
1. BIGBANG’s G-Dragon
Twitter handle: @IBGDRGN
G-Dragon, aka the “King of K-pop” is also the king on Twitter. With 8.7 million followers, GD has gained a devoted following as a BIGBANG member and solo artist. Last month, he made it to the list of brand reputation rankings despite being silent on social media, and mind you: His last tweet was in 2018, but he still ranked number one on this list. Now that’s power.
2. Super Junior’s Siwon
Twitter handle: @siwonchoi
The visual and center of Super Junior comes in second place as the most-followed individual K-pop act with 7.2 million followers. Siwon is the Regional Ambassador for UNICEF East Asia and Pacific, and has been spreading messages of love and hope on this social media platform. A quick look at the K-pop idol’s Twitter account and you will see motivational tweets in Korean and English, and group photos with his other members.
3. 2PM’s Nichkhun
Twitter handle: @Khunnie0624
Another OG K-pop idol tops the list with 7 million followers! Nichkhun has been sharing 2PM content on his account these days, and has been blessing their fandom, the Hottests, with adorable selfies. The Thai member recently starred in Disney Channel’s Big Hero 6: The Series alongside DAY6’s Jae.
4. GOT7’s BamBam
Twitter handle: @BamBam1A
BamBam joined Twitter in 2013, and now has 6.5 million Twitter followers. The GOT7 member doesn’t only retweet content from the group’s official Twitter space, but also from fan accounts. He also replies to their tweets, and talks to them just like a friend. iGOT7s are so lucky! Last month, GOT7 took home two trophies, including the Artist Of The Year, at the LINE Thailand People’s Choice Awards.
5. GOT7’s Mark
Twitter handle: @marktuan
Another GOT7 member made it to the list! Mark currently has 5.7 million followers, and holds a #chatwithmark series with his fans on his account. One fan tweeted, “I left my online class to chat with you.”, and Mark responded with a “You should go back to class after then…lol.” We were ROFL with this entire thread!! (Also, Mark agrees with us: Cereal first before milk.)
6. 2NE1's Sandara Park
Twitter handle: @krungy21
The only female K-pop artist on the list, Sandara has 5.4 million Twitter followers. We're not surprised because Pinoys can't get enough of our dear Sandara! And yes, her Twitter username is a spin on her Filipino moniker, krungkrung, which means crazy. Her Twitter bio verifies: She’s indeed the “Pambansang krungkrung ng Pilipinas.” We love you, Dara!
7. Super Junior’s Donghae
Twitter handle: @donghae861015
Donghae is celebrating a decade on Twitter this year! The Super Junior member has gained 5.2 million followers which continues to grow day by day. If you’re wondering what’s the meaning behind his account’s profile picture, it’s actually the name of a café in Seoul that he owns. Donghae had a comeback with his fellow member Eunhyuk last month, under SuJu’s sub-unit, Super Junior D&E.
8. Super Junior’s Yesung
Twitter handle: @shfly3424
Looks like Super Junior is dominating the list! With 5.2 million followers, Yesung shares snippets of his life to his fans on this platform: What he’s currently reading, the places he went to, and the food he ate. In May, Super Junior-K.R.Y, a sub-unit that he’s part of, released their first mini-album, When We Were Us.
9. EXO's Baekhyun
Twitter handle: @B_hundred_Hyun
Baekhyun, who has 4.5 million followers, loves tweeting just like us! His tweets are mostly in Korean, and when we translated some of his posts, it actually reads as fun anecdotes. The EXO member is one busy K-pop idol this year, with the recent comeback of SuperM, and his OST recordings (we’ve counted four already!) for K-dramas.
10. Super Junior’s Leeteuk
Twitter handle: @special1004
Wrapping up the list is another Super Junior member with 4.3 million followers! Majority of Leeteuk’s tweets are links from his Instagram account, and looking at his huge following—that already says a lot. In July, Leeteuk hosted MBC’s online charity concert, World Is One, with Oh My Girl’s Seunghee.
