The second annual ABS-CBN Ball—formerly known as the Star Magic Ball—took place on September 14, 2019 at the Shangri-La at The Fort Hotel. The theme for this year's ball was "Modern Filipiniana," and these red carpet OOTDs are proof that the guests weren't afraid to give the dress code their own twist!
Kathryn Bernardo
Kathryn Bernardo OWNED the red carpet in this Barbie-esque hot pink gown by Dubai-based designer Michael Cinco. The sequined and bedazzled creation also featured Filipino indigenous prints running down the length of her gown. So gorge!

Vice Ganda
You can rely on Vice Ganda to be the showstopper in every event, and the ball was no different. He wore a collaboration between Paul Cabral and Neric Beltran that featured oversized puffed sleeves, a long train, and a heavily-embellished bodice. He topped off the look with a crown, no less!

Anne Curtis
Anne Curtis looked like a darling debutante in this lavender creation by Mich Dulce, but it was her chic fascinator (the hat on the side of her head!) that really pulled her entire look together.

Ylona Garcia
Ylona Garcia made heads turn as she walked down the red carpet in a gold two-piece terno by Michael Leyva. It showed off just the right amount of skin, and the gold really made her morena complexion POP! It also reminded us of flappers from the '20s with the way her outfit swung as she walked. Our favorite, though? The intricately gelled baby hairs on the side of her face. (Needless to say, we'll be trying that out too.)

Maymay Entrata
Maymay Entrata knows how to ~werk~ the runway, and she definitely treated the red carpet of the ball as one, too. She slayed in this beaded gown by Furne One, and took the look to the next level with a headdress of giant roses. (which totally gave us Star Wars Queen Amidala vibes!)

Nadine Lustre
Our. President. Did. Not. Come. To. Play! Our kween and savior, Nadine Lustre, showed up in a red Michael Leyva terno with a sky-high thigh slit and red slinky heels. She let her beautiful features shine through with a simple beauty look: her signature smoky cat eye and long, straight hair.

Janella Salvador
What's not to love about Janella Salvador's look? She looked timeless in this Michael Leyva creation featuring statement sleeves, a deep-V, blazer-esque top, and a full ball gown skirt. So. Cute!

Alexa Ilacad
Alexa Ilacad wowed us in this barong and terno fusion by Ryan Ablaza Uzon. The Killer Bride star looked every bit the classic darling with a softly made-up face and chignon.

Bea Alonzo
Bea Alonzo was a drop-dead gorgeous señorita in this Jun Escario ensemble. She took the LBD to the next level with her thigh-high slit and one-shoulder top. According to Bea, this gown paid homage to the traditional Balintawak dress.

Kim Chiu
Kim Chiu was not afraid to play it up at this year's ball! Her go-to look would usually be a princess-type ball gown, but this year, she opted for a beaded, backless white mermaid gown by Benj Leguiab. (Check out these photos of boyfriend and forever date Xian Lim carrying her down the staircase! True love exists, guys.)
