If you've been away from the PH for a long time, chances are there are some days when you get homesick. You'd give absolutely anything to visit the country and its *stellar* tourist destinations again. Well, there's no need to book a flight (for now) because we listed down five Pinoy movies that will cure your homesickness ~just a bit~!
1. Suddenly It's Magic (2012) - Ilocos Norte
In this Mario Maurer + Erich Gonzales movie, Erich's character Joey is a baker in Ilocos and she meets Thai rom-com star Marcus (Mario) when he decides to take a vacation in the Philippines. In an interview, Mario totally gushed over the scenery, especially Ilocos' old churches.
2. That Thing Called Tadhana (2016) - Sagada
Although most of this film shows Angelica Panganiban and JM De Guzman's characters just talking about life, love, and everything in between, their ultimate travel location is Sagada! That shot of the Kiltepan Viewpoint is just amazing.
3. Flotsam (2015) - La Union
This film tells eight different love stories between locals and visitors in the surfing town of San Juan, La Union. The beach, the waves, the sand? They're totally *calling* us.
4. Siargao (2017) - Siargao *wink*
The surfing island takes center stage in this film starring Jericho Rosales, Erich Gonzales, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith. Jericho plays an islander-turned-musician who meets Erich's character in Siargao. Being back on the island also means that he has to face his ex, played by Jasmine.
5. Lakbay2Love (2016) - Mt. Maranat + Benguet
In this film, Solenn Heussaff and Dennis Trillo play a videographer and a forester who travel all over Luzon on mountain bikes "to appreciate the beauty of Mother Nature."
