If you’re obsessed with K-dramas and love guys with cute dimples, I’m pretty sure you already have Nam Yoon Su on your radar. This 24-year-old is relatively a newcomer to the industry, but he’s already appeared in some of the biggest drama titles in the last two years! I first ~met~  him through Extracurricular. One look at that bedimpled face and I was already looking for more Yoon Su content. And if you are too, here’s a list of Yoon Su’s dramas you shouldn’t miss!

Early projects

  1. 4 Kinds of House (2018)
This four-part web drama from MBC Every1 is a story about people who are used to living alone and eventually finding themselves living together in a shared home. And thus begins the realizations about life and love that neither of them would’ve known had they continued living separate lives and all alone. The series stars Ladies' Code's Zuny and F.T.Island's Lee Jae Jin.

Yoon Su plays the role of Joon Ha, a successful France-based fashion photographer who returned to South Korea when his passion for photography mellowed down. He is good friends with Na Yoon (Zuny) and takes care of her in his own little ways. Despite this being his debut as an actor, one of the drama’s officials noted his hard work and said that Yoon Su is a rare rookie who has a serious attitude towards acting and is a ball of attractive energy.

  2. Want More 19 (2018)
Yoon Su stars in another web drama, this time from Playlist Global. Want More 19 is a "cheeky teen romance" telling the story of five high school chingus. They take us through the motions of high school romance (read: mutual crushes, unrequited loves a.k.a all ~those~ familiar feelings) as they also prepare for their upcoming exams. Here, Yoon Su plays the role of Lee Gyeom—the caring best friend who keeps his feelings for her under wraps. Does he get to confess and date his best friend for real? Watch all seven episodes to find out!

  3.  Not A Robot (2019)
Released by Dingo, Not A Robot talks about the story of a girl named Cha Ga Eun who is a recluse. Just like any other girl her age, she goes to school and is classmates with Ahn Do Young, who happens to be his housekeeper and is secretly a robot! Yoon Su plays the role of Jeong Seong Yoon, a good-looking and intelligent student who learns the true identity of Do Young. He keeps his secret—but for how long? Because what their classmates don’t know is that Seong Yoon is hiding away a different identity that is a far cry from his perfect demeanor.

  4. The Temperature Of Language: Our Nineteen (2020)
According to its V Live channel, this web drama is about "19-year-old youths who are striving to live today sincerely. The Temperature of Language: Our Nineteen is a teen drama of Korean high school seniors' hidden lives that adults don't know." It stars Jin Ji Hee (of The Penthouse fame) who plays Woo Jin Ah, an awkward high school senior who is trying to navigate through the last few months of her high school life. She is good friends with all-around good guy Chan Sol, played by none other than our best boy Yoon Su. He is an aspiring soccer player but an injury prevents him from chasing after his dreams. This 12-episode drama is filled with moments that will surely transport you back to the highs and lows of high school life.

  5. Extracurricular (2020)
You can never really judge a book by its cover. While Ji Soo (played by Kim Dong Hee) is your typical straight A-student, he operates an illegal side business to make sure he has enough money for college. Things get complicated when his classmate, Bae Gyu Ri (played by Park Ju Hyun), discovers his secret and starts joining him in his extracurricular affairs. Yoon Su plays the role of their violent and vulgar bully Kwak Ki Tae—a far cry from his typical boy next door characters. For this role, Yoon Su was nominated for television’s Best New Actor category at the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards. Woah!

  6. Birthcare Center (2020)
This drama is about the story of company executive Oh Hyun Jin (played by Uhm Ji Won) and her journey to giving birth. While staying at a birthcare center, she felt embarrassed knowing that she is the oldest guest there. But she soon meets other mothers and they share tips and tricks not just about motherhood, but about life in general too. Yoon Su plays the role of Ha Kyung Hoon, a polite and handsome delivery man who is well-loved by the mothers staying at the birthcare center. How Yoon Su managed to go from savage to sweetheart in his dramas for 2020 is just mind-blowing to me.

Beyond Evil is an award-winning drama with an award-winning cast, too. Starring Shin Ha Kyun and Yeo Jin Goo, the two portray fearless policemen who constantly butt heads as they try to solve a serial murder case happening in the town of Manyang. 2. The King’s Affection (2021)
Yoon Su’s latest drama is The King’s Affection, where he starred alongside Rowoon and Park Eun Bin. Here he plays Lee Hyun, cousin to his (her) royal highness Crown Prince Lee Hwi-slash-Dam Yi (Park Eun Bin). He’s known her secret all along but chose to keep her secret…and love her from afar. Pretty much all the roles he’s played in his early days except this time, in sageuk fashion. For his role in this drama, Yoon Su was nominated for the Best New Actor category in the 2021 KBS Drama Awards. He was also nominated—and won!— the Model Star Award at the 16th Asia Model Awards held last December 19, 2021.
