It's been a few months since Neri Naig opened her garden restaurant in Tagaytay, which features performances from known local bands, as well as picnic-style and boodle fight offerings.
A customer recently took to Neri's Instagram account to share her disappointment with the quality of the service at the restaurant:
"'Yung pagngiwi at pagsimangot din naming mga customer sa service ninyo pagpunta sa resto ninyo manganda [rin]," the customer said. The customer also commented about how she bets her negative comment would be deleted or she would be blocked.
Neri responded to the customer, apologizing for the kind of service she received, assuming the visit had been during the restaurant's soft opening. Neri went on to explain how they have hired a new manager and are making improvements to their system. She also shared how she knows little about running a restaurant business and how she hopes the customer can still return.
Responding to the customer's "bet" about her comment being deleted or her account being blocked, Neri said, "'Saka po pala, tuloy po ba ang pustahan? Sasali po ako, hehe! Baka sakaling manalo ako."
The customer was not happy with Neri's response, replying with an even lengthier comment. She went on to share how differently she had hoped Neri would respond to her complaints.
"Sana pala sinama ko sa pustahan 'yung magre-reply ka ng sarcastic sa [akin] with matching kuha ng simpatya from others," the customer replied.
On the same day, Neri posted new photos of her restaurant on Instagram, talking about how it's more of a backyard hangout place than a fine dining restaurant. She also admitted that she has little experience being a restauranteur, and that she cannot please everyone, but she is willing to keep learning. She thanked customers who continue to patronize her business.
"Hindi ko mapi-please ang mga tao, meron at merong masasabi ang iba sa akin. Pero hindi [ito] ang basehan para mapanghinaan ng loob, umayaw, o ma-depress," she said.
