During your commute, your lunch break, or before you go to sleep, do you often find yourself watching K-dramas and TV series on your phone? I am personally guilty of this! To all my fellow binge-watchers, we've got great news for you!
According to a report by GMA-7, Netflix director for Product Innovation Patrick Flemming announced that they are releasing a new plan for the Philippines. At only P149 per month, Netflix subscribers will be able to "enjoy all the films and shows uninterrupted and without ads on one smartphone or tablet at a time."
The "mobile-only" plan is also available in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. To avail of the plan, all you have to do is download the Netflix app or visit the website, and select the P149 per month plan. You could also opt to change your current plan if you wish!
At present, a basic Netflix plan (one screen + SD) costs P369 a month. A standard plan (two screens + Full HD) costs P459, while a premium plan (four screens + Full HD and Ultra HD) is P549.
Netflix was launched in the Philippines in January 2016. Its original TV series and movies include Stranger Things, To All The Boys I've Loved Before, and Someone Great. The streaming platform is also home to hit Korean dramas such as Hotel Del Luna, Crash Landing On You, Love Alarm, Vagabond, and Kingdom.
