Hosting a show can be nerve-wracking, even more so if you’re hosting the Miss Universe coronation night. Who could forget Steve Harvey's infamous mess-up when he announced during the Miss Universe 2015 pageant that Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez Arevalo won, when in fact, it should have been Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach.
On May 17, the internet couldn’t help but notice Olivia Culpo’s reaction as she announced the pageant’s second runner-up, Peru.
Olivia’s supposedly “dumbfounded” look has spawned many memes:
On Instagram Stories, Olivia posted a photo of herself reading a cue card and wrote, “I don’t think I have ever concentrated so hard on reading in my life than when announcing the winner of Miss Universe this weekend.”
She said that she was terrified of reading the wrong country and was simply concentrating on the words. She added, “Apparently, I need to work on my reading face and I’m sorry if this was misinterpreted in any type of way.”
To keep the mood light, the Miss Universe 2012 titleholder also poked fun at herself by posting several memes of that now-famous photo.
