Are #squadgoals still a thing? We'd like to think so after seeing the Wooga Squad! The Korean celeb friendship group includes our faves Park Seo Joon, Choi Woo Shik, BTS' V, Park Hyung Sik, and Peakboy. From going on road trips, promoting each other’s gigs, to sending food trucks as gifts, we love the support system going on in this squad. Here's everything you need to know about the wooga boys:
Wooga means "Are we family?"
There have been a lot of speculations on what wooga really stands for. It used to be an inside joke among the members. Fans made a theory that it's a combined word of the wooga members' professions: baewoo which means actor and gasu which means singer. But one Twitter clip shows V suggesting that wooga is an abbreviation for "Woori-ga gajok-inga?" which means "Are we family?" And it makes perfect sense because these boys really bond like brothers!
Park Seo Joon, Park Hyung Sik, and V formed a bond during their Hwarang days.
You can say they are the founding members of wooga. They met on the set of Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth back in 2016 and have been inseparable ever since.
They like listening to Peakboy's music.
Park Seo Joon introduced him to the group. They support the rapper’s music a lot by sharing his latest tracks on their respective social media accounts.
Let's not forget that Choi Woo Shik is in the group!
We really need to thank Park Seo Joon for assembling the wooga squad. He brought Choi Woo Shik into the picture too! They're close friends and have become frequent collaborators after appearing in the sitcom Shut Up Family in 2012. Choi Woo Shik made appearances in Park Seo Joon's projects like Fight For My Way and The Divine Fury. And in case you forgot, Park Seo Joon played Choi Woo Shik's friend in Parasite.
Also, their other wooga brothers celebrated Parasite's Oscar victory earlier this year. How supportive!
V was featured in the Itaewon Class OST.
Speaking of collabs, V sorta worked again with Park Seo Joon by recording a track called "Sweet Night" for the Itaewon Class OST. He also made an effort to drop by the set during the K-drama's final taping!
Being the youngest in the group, V is like a little brother who can always count on his hyungs for support. Wooga members sans Park Hyung Sik attended BTS’ Seoul concert last year. The squad also sent a food truck during a BTS fan meeting.
They miss Park Hyung Sik a lot!
The actor began his mandatory military service in 2019. The rest of the wooga members miss him a lot so they tried to photoshop him in one of their vacay photos. LOL!
