This Song About Pens And Pineapples Will Take Over Your Life

WARNING: The 'PPAP' song will be stuck in your head the whole day, possibly the whole week.

"Pen-Pineapple Apple-Pen (PPAP)" is the newest viral hit to flood our newsfeeds, and it's about combining a pineapple and a pen. There is no other way to describe it without sounding insane, so a first-hand experience is in order. Remember, though: once you listen to it, it cannot be unheard. Consider this a warning:

The guy behind it is Piko-Taro, a fictional character created by Japanese DJ and comedian Kosaka Daimaou (his real name is Kazuhiko Kosaka). Kosaka milked Piko-Taro’s popularity in his stand-up performances by uploading this YouTube video that has almost 5 million views to date.

Netizens who caught the PPAP fever started uploading their own versions, much to the delight of Piko-Taro, who has his own Twitter account. He even created a step-by-step PPAP tutorial!
