UPDATE as of April 24, 2017, 4:02 p.m.: Kathelyn Dupaya has since posted a lengthy apology on her now-public IG account. In her caption, Kathelyn said that she already spoke with Pia’s manager Jonas Gaffud and stressed that the issue was only a misunderstanding:
I just [talked] to Jonas the manager of Pia thru [the] phone, [and] after our long conversation we found out [from] each other [that] the cause of trouble is [a] MISUNDERSTANDING between me and PIA and surrounded by us [sic]. Jonas explained everything to me. What is the true happening [sic]. All the damages was [sic] done. I am so sorry po kung ano nasabi ko kasi sobra [akong] nasaktan and I believe nasaktan din si Pia. Both of us ay nasaktan kaya both of us say [sic] sorry for everything at tao lang po tayo lahat para di magkamali. Jonas, the manager of Pia, and I are ok and we end [sic] our conversation happy and both of us [said] sorry for everything. God bless us all.
Jonas of Mercator Model Management has also released their official statement and further emphasized Kathelyn’s message:
"I thank Kathy for clarifying the issues she raised against Pia, and for apologizing for what she has done. Clearly, what happened was [a] misunderstanding as she never heard Pia talk bad about anything. Pia is thankful for the hospitality that Kathy provided during her private vacation in Brunei. As her manager, I was prepared to answer Kathy's claims, but she reached out to clarify her issues. Communication is really important to settle conflicts and prevent misunderstanding. We learn from mistakes, however, and I hope what happened will serve as a lesson for artists, talents, managers, and producers to formalize arrangements in order to avoid confusion and any problem. Meanwhile, Pia is focused on her career, and watch out for her next endorsement later today, even as she continues to promote her advocacies on anti-bullying, HIV/AIDS awareness and helping an organization send kids to school. In the next days, she will start to play a big role in these efforts."
Kathelyn Dupaya, a Brunei-based Pinay businesswoman, went on an IG rant about Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach because the beauty queen reportedly did not fulfill her side of a work agreement in February. Writing on Instagram (her profile is now private, FYI), Kathelyn said:
In a PEP.ph exclusive, Kathelyn said she flew in Pia in mid-February to attend her spa opening in Brunei. Along with Pia was her boyfriend Marlon Stockinger, his parents, brother, and some staff members—whose plane fares and accommodations were also allegedly paid for by Kathelyn.
"Walo sila na sinagot ko hotel, plane ticket, pagkain, at lahat ng ginastos nila dito sa Brunei," she said.

Their agreement, however, was only established over FaceTime—without any contract or formal consent from Pia's management.
During Kathelyn's spa opening on February 12, Pia was a no-show: "Nag-sorry sila na hindi sila makasipot sa soft opening.
What prompted Kathelyn to speak up about the incident months after it happened was a recent encounter she had on a flight to Manila. She says Pia's former makeup artist approached her to ask if she was Kathelyn Dupaya. When she confirmed her identity, the makeup artist went to dish on some gossip she heard from Pia about her:
