This Pinay Shares How She Became The *Ultimate* Anne Curtis Fan
One look at Gladyz Anne, 23, and you'd notice she shares an uncanny resemblance with a certain Filipina superstar, Anne Curtis. You could say their similarities in their physical appearance must be ~fate~ because, for Gladyz, her ultimate idol is none other than Anne. Gladyz's fangirl journey started in 2013 when she was a college freshman because people kept on pointing out how much she looked like 36-year-old multihyphenate! "The story of my fangirling life started noong first year college ako, mayroon akong pageant na sinalihan sa school," she tells Cosmopolitan. "People started calling me Anne, even my profs, my classmates, tapos pati na yung mga friends ko, and ibang mga tao na hindi naman ako ganoon kakilala. And I wondered why. Tapos sinasabi nila I have a resemblance daw to Anne."
At that time, Anne was just an "ordinary" celebrity for Gladyz, but she got curious and started her deep-dive in Googling everything there was to know about Anne—from her humble showbiz beginnings to her close-knit family. "The more na nakikilala ko kung sino talaga yung Anne, kung sino talaga si Anne Curtis na superstar dito sa Pilipinas," the more Gladyz's love for Anne grew.
Gladyz has been an Anne stan for eight years now and has had several fan encounters with her over the years—in real life and online! But for Gladyz, the best thing about being Anne's fan for this long is witnessing how much she's grown as a celebrity and, more so, as a person. "Nakakatuwa lang na makita siya, yung journey niya, ma-witness yung journey niya," she shares. "From her heartbreaks, tapos until she met Erwan, tapos for the longest time na they're in a relationship. They got engaged, they got married, and now they have Dahlia. Nakaka-emotional naman! Nakaka-proud lang na bilang fan, I witnessed Anne Curtis at her happiest. And sobrang happy ko rin talaga for her."
