It's almost the weekend and it's almost Halloween! You're probably hopping on a conference call with your friends or family tomorrow, so why don't you kick it up a notch by having a Netflix Party, too? ICYMI, there are a bunch of Pinoy horror films on the streaming site.

Let's be honest: Although a lot of them are pretty *scary*, sometimes there are scenes that just...fail to hit that "OMG I can't I'm going to scream" mark. That doesn't mean you won't grow to love them, though! It all depends on your fear ~tolerance~. Here, we prepped a list of films just for you: 

1. Pagpag: Nine Lives (2013) 

Netflix description: After ignoring superstitions, a group of teenagers find themselves in a fight for their lives when they are haunted—and hunted—by an evil spirit.

Fun fact: Pagpag is a Filipino superstition that *requires* those who have been to a wake to "make a pitstop somewhere before going home." If they don't, spirits will follow them! 

2. Haunted Mansion (2015) 

Netflix description: On a school retreat at a haunted mansion, a student who can see evil spirits and her mischievous classmates learn that hunting for ghosts is not a game.

Fun fact: Some of the actors had creepy experiences on set! Cast members "heard a little boy talking" and Janella Salvador said her mother and brother were inside a tent when they heard "an old man moaning outside." 

3. Spirit Of The Glass 2: The Hunted (2017)

Netflix description: When a trio of girls tinkers with an antique Ouija board, evil spirits use them to seek justice for a crime committed years prior.

Fun fact: The first movie came out in 1994, and just like the sequel, it was directed by Jose Javier Reyes

4. Aurora (2018) 

Netflix description: A fatal shipwreck spurs an islander innkeeper and her sister to recover the missing victims' bodiesuntil the dead come seeking shelter themselves.

Fun fact: This thriller doesn't have any ~screaming parts~

5. Kuwaresma/The Entity (2019) 

Netflix description: When a man returns home to search for the reason behind the mysterious passing of his twin sister, he uncovers family secrets that nearly destroy him.

Fun fact: This is Sharon Cuneta's first horror movie. Director Erik Matti "convinced" the actress—who also happens to be a big horror genre fan—to star in the movie within 15 minutes

6. Sunod (2019)

Netflix description: As the medical expenses for her daughter stack up, a mother takes a demanding call center job where the building's sinister secrets begin to haunt her.

Fun fact: Lead actress Carmina Villaroel shared that they did certain rituals to prepare for shooting such as "putting ginger in their pockets" and "wearing something red."

7. Eerie (2019)

Netflix description: When a student's suicide rattles an all-girls Catholic school, a clairvoyant guidance counselor leans on a ghost to uncover the convent's abusive past.

Fun fact: The horror film was part of many film festivals such as the 2019 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, Italy's Far East Film Festival, and the Singapore International Film Festival
