The Top 10 Netflix Films And Shows Pinoys Have Been Watching During The Pandemic

It's a combination of K-dramas, Filipino films, and American sitcoms!

Yup, the pandemic is still ongoing, and we are all dealing with it differently. One thing that probably takes your mind off the *stress* is watching—and rewatching—movies and series! According to a recent study by the iprice Group, which focused on the streaming behavior and search interests of people before and after the lockdown, Pinoys have been watching a lot of local movies, K-dramas, and American sitcoms!

In no particular order, here are the 10 *most-searched* films and series on Netflix: 

1. Money Heist 

Yup, Money Heist is really close to our hearts! Also known as La Casa De Papel, this series follows a man called The Professor (Alvaro Morte) as he recruits eight people to help him rob the Royal Mint of Spain. 

2. Heneral Luna 

John Arcilla plays the titular general in this movie set during the Filipino-American war. Heneral Luna clashes with almost everyone he meets, but one thing is clear: he's willing to do anything for his country.

3. Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral 

A sequel to Heneral Luna, this movie focuses on the young Gregorio del Pilar (Paulo Avelino), the president's "favorite" soldier. He eventually leads the Battle Of Tirad Pass.  

4. Four Sisters And A Wedding 

In case you haven't watched this *classic* family film yet, it tells the story of the Salazar sisters, who couldn't be more different from each other! When their only brother announces that he's getting married, they are united by one goal: to save him from the girl they think isn't right for him. The movie is also getting a prequel.

5. Modern Family 

This "mockumentary" sitcom tells the story of the extended Pritchett family! The show aired its eleventh and final season in April 2020, and we actually saw the child actors from the show grow up on TV.

6. Community 

A lawyer is forced to go back to school, and he meets "a clan of misfits" in community college! 

7. How I Met Your Mother 

While a lot of fans weren't happy with this sitcom's ending, it's definitely a must-watch. In a span of nine seasons, an architect named Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) tells his kids about his *youth* and the many women in his life.  

8. Itaewon Class 

Park Saeroyi (Park Seo Joon) is determined to avenge his father. He establishes a restaurant and teams up with some "unlikely professionals" to defeat Jangga Co., whose owner is responsible for covering up his father's murder 

9. Reply 1988 

Four childhood friends who live in the same neighborhood deal with high school problems, first love, and family issues. This drama gave viewers major second lead syndrome, but we'll let you judge for yourself! 

10. Crash Landing On You 

This show has converted so many Pinoys into K-drama fans! A tale of two star-crossed lovers, Crash Landing On You features a South Korean heiress (Son Ye Jin) who lands in North Korea because of a paragliding accident. She meets a North Korean soldier (Hyun Bin) who helps her get back home.
