It seems not everyone enjoyed James Reid’s performance during an episode of the show On the Wings of Love where he dirty-danced while wearing a police uniform.
In fact, the controversial episode caught the attention of no less than the Philippine National Police which gave Reid’s performance a thumbs down, the Inquirer reported.
Due to this, PNP Spokesman Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor said they will coordinate possible legal actions against the producers of the show with the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
“The PNP will write the MTRCB a letter on the episode. The PNP uniform cannot be used just like that, especially if it is degrading and does not reflect a policeman’s work and duties,” he said.
“It does not mirror a policeman’s duty. The PNP uniform is sacred to policemen and policewomen,” he added.
During the controversial episode aired on Monday, Reid as “Clark” made girls giggle as he performed a striptease for “Leah” played by Nadine Lustre during her bridal shower.
This caused the PNP to appeal to TV and movie producers to think twice before using their uniforms in similar scenes.
The PNP also reminded them that illegal representation of police uniforms and badges can be punishable with jail term of up to 4 years and two months.
