The long wait is over, ReVeluvs!
On September 6, SM Entertainment announced that Red Velvet's Seulgi will be debuting as a soloist next month.
"Seulgi is preparing for her first solo album with the aim of an October release. Please show lots of interest," the agency shared to Korean news outlets.
The date of release and other details have yet to be revealed.
Seulgi debuted in 2014 as a member of the popular K-pop girl group Red Velvet. They are best known for their hit songs "Red Flavor", "Peek-A-Boo", "Psycho", and many more. In 2020, Seulgi and fellow Red Velvet member Irene formed the group's first sub-unit named Red Velvet - IRENE & SEULGI and released the mini album Monster.
Seulgi is the third member from Red Velvet to debut as a solo artist, following Wendy's April 2021 mini album Like Water and Joy's May 2021 album release Hello.
The 28-year-old idol is also a member of SM Entertainment's supergroup Got the Beat, consisting of select members from Girls' Generation, Aespa, Red Velvet's Wendy, and soloist BoA.
As for her solo activities, Seulgi released a soundtrack for the 2019 drama The Crowned Clown titled "Always."
