Walang magmo-move on! Reply 1988 will be available on Philippine television soon, which means the Ssangmun-dong fandom will be expanding even more. Five years after its original airing in South Korea, the K-drama is still well-loved by Pinoys, and a couple even had a Reply 1988-inspired prenup shoot just this month.
Over the weekend, TV5 announced that the series, along with 2018 series Wok Of Love, will be airing on the channel starting September 21, Monday at 8:30 p.m. As early as now, fans are gushing—and sharing their hopes—about it: "Iiyak nanaman ako ng bongga," one fan wrote on Twitter. Another shared, "Sana po walang cut at yung mga music 'wag baguhin."
Reply 1988 tells the story of five childhood friends (who grew up in the same neighborhood) and their families. Our leading lady Deok Sun is played by Hyeri, and she's a ~sometimes forgotten~ middle child who just wants some love. We don't wanna spoil it for all the newbies out there, but this drama will make you experience love, heartbreak, and laughter combined!
In 2016, Ryu Jun Yeol won the Best New Actor award at the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards for his role in Reply 1988, while Shin Won Ho won Best Director for TV. Watch the hilarious trailer for the show below:
