Musical numbers on top of moving trainsOver-the-top dialogue? Super dramaticbut happy—endings? These are just some of the things that make Bollywood movies so special! India has the LARGEST film industry in the whole world, and the country produces "between 1,500 and 2,000 movies a year across 20 languages." Bollywood is the Hindi-language sector of India's movie-making industry.

Thanks to Netflix, we've finally been able to watch lots of Bollywood movies *legally*. If you're super new to the genre, we prepped a list of rom-com movies that are available on the streaming platform, and a lot of them star Shah Rukh Khan, the "King Of Bollywood!" This movie deserves a spot on our list because of its adorable storyline: Two college best friends are convinced they don't have any ~romantic feelings~ for each other...but their family and friends know better. It takes them years to acknowledge it! The film reminds me of the 1998 Pinoy film Labs Kita...Okey Ka Lang?

3. 2 States

It stars: Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor

"Two graduate students hope to win their parents' approval before they marry, but the two families clash over their cultural differences." It's based on a 2009 novel called 2 States: The Story Of My Marriage, and shows how cultural differences and prejudice test a couple's relationship.

4. Dilwale (The Big-Hearted)

It stars: Sha Rukh Khan and Kajol

In their much-awaited reunion film, the love team star as Raj and Meera, two people who fall in love but who are torn apart because of their families. They meet again many years later and are given a second chance. This film got mixed reviews for being super "cliche," it's definitely worth watching for fans of the love team!
