Did you just do a spill a bit of coffee on your desk? Because I certainly did. And, can you blame me with the news that S Club 7 is reportedly in talks to reunite for an arena tour in 2020 to mark the 20th anniversary of the group?! The band broke (our hearts) up in 2002 and there's been a crop top and flares shaped hole in our lives ever since.
Reunion rumors all started this summer when Rachel Stevens (presumably still "doing her thing") went on Lorraine Kelly's ITV show and mentioned she would be up for a reunion, "We're all over the place, but we did do a reunion tour four years ago...I would definitely do it again." Our Rach also mentioned that she and the other sclubbers do still meet up from time-to-time. So, already things are looking good.
Now the Mirror reports that all seven members (Paul Cattermole, Rachel Stevens, Jo O'Meara, Hannah Spearritt, Tina Barrett, Bradley McIntosh, and Jon Lee) of the gang are in talks and keen to get the S Club party going again. According to the publication, a source close to the group said: "There is talks in between band members now about doing a reunion arena tour next year [sic]."
"A lot of the bandmates are up for it. It's still early days but they are talking and fans may be in for a treat in 2020. It all makes perfect sense for a reunion celebrating 20 years of S Club 7."
Of course, S Club 7 reunited in 2015 for the Bring it All Back tour and never forget...S Club 3, the attempted mini spin-off involving Jo, Bradley, and Paul (subsequently replaced by Tina). The group's most notable impact were the memes that came out of their alleyway photoshoot. Plus, let's never forget when Paul Cattermole tried to auction off his Brit award on eBay...S Club has been through dark times recently, so a proper arena spectacular is the least they deserve.
I don't know about you but I am quivering like an excited chihuahua right now.
