Tons of support spread across the internet when Sarah Geronimo broke down in tears at her recent Las Vegas concert. In that emotional moment, Sarah was quoted as saying, "I'm sorry, pagod po ako." The concert, held on April 29, 2018 (Las Vegas time), was part of her This 15 Me concert tour.
On May 4, Sarah was back on her feet, as she continued her tour in Chicago. This time, she was nothing but smiles. In one of her spiels, the 29-year-old singer explained to her fans what happened in Las Vegas.
A video of her spiel was posted by ABS-CBN reporter Connie Macatula-De Leon on her Facebook page.
"Yon pala yon. Puwede pala yon talaga mangyari sa akin," Sarah says. "'Di po ako prepared. Pero I've been dreaming of it ever since I was a little kid. Hindi lang po ako naging prepared for everything: yong lahat, yong fame, yong pressure—pressure to stay relevant."
Sarah continues: "Ano bang next na move ko? Anong next na song ko? Anong next na pasabog? Ano bang susuotin ko? Ano bang makeup ko? Parang lagi na lang kailangan pag-isipan nang mabuti lahat. Kailangan lagi kang maganda, laging naka-makeup. Ewan ko ba. Pero gano'n po talaga."
At this point, Sarah made sure to tell her audience that although these struggles come her way, she does "feel very, very, very, very blessed, and [she is] truly blessed."
She explained that when she began crying, she was also experiencing panic. "Walang tulog. Tapos parang nawawala yong boses ko. 'Diyos ko po, Lord!' sabi ko. And then, naalala ko lang ho, siyempre, yong journey ko, yong beginnings natin, mga pinagdaanan. At saka, siyempre, lahat po tayo may battles sa buhay, siguro nagpatung-patong na po."
She then began to let her sense of humor take the wheel: "Pero wala pong iyakan ngayon. Bawal. Pangit. Nanu-news tayo, e. Naba-bash tayo masyado, e. Huwag nang gano'n."
As the audience cheered her on, she continued, "Akala nila nag-iinarte ako. Binigay na nga sa akin 'to, inarte pa ako. Mawawala din 'to, ano? So hanggang meron, go lang, 'di ba?
"Ipon tayo, ganyan, trenta na. Haha! Okay.
"Hindi, kailangan po talaga, habang meron pa, tuluy-tuloy lang. 'Di ba po?"
The This 15 Me concert tour celebrates Sarah's 15th anniversary in show business.
