More nakakakilig content coming your way, BinJin fans: Son Ye Jin, aka the "Nation's First Love," just revealed her *own* first love!
Last week, a preview of Ye Jin's guesting on the popular variety show You Quiz On The Block made everyone scream when she mentioned the man who makes her heart skip a beat.
On February 16, the full episode was broadcasted on tvN and uploaded on YouTube. Simultaneously, it's also the premiere of her latest K-drama, Thirty-Nine (which you can stream on Netflix), where she stars alongside Jeon Mi Do and Kim Ji Hyun.
In the variety program, Ye Jin shared details about her career and recalled that she dreamed of becoming an actress ever since she was in middle school: "I had too many feelings and thoughts inside of me that I couldn't express, and I thought that I wouldn't be able to express them in another line of work. I wanted to express them through acting."
During her younger days, the melodrama queen wanted to turn 30 quickly because of the sunbaes (seniors) who inspire her. But now that she's beyond that age, Ye Jin said it's hard for her to believe it. ICYDK, she turned 40 years old last January 11.
Ye Ji earned the title "The Nation's First Love" when she led the movies The Classic (2003) and A Moment To Remember (2004). The nickname is given to Hallyu stars who are well-loved not just because of their works but also because of their overall charm. With this, Ye Jin said that she wanted to hold on to the title for a long time. "[Realistically,] how much longer would I be able to hear people call me that? I do want to hear [people call me that] for as long as I possibly can, since I won't be able to hear people say that kind of thing anymore once time has passed. [By then,] I think people will come up with another nickname for me that suits my age."
Now for the squeal-worthy part, Ye Jin was asked about her own first love and her reply is a direct reference to her fiance, Hyun Bin: "My current love is my first love." *FAINTS BECAUSE OF TOO MUCH KILIG*
Ye Jin and Hyun Bin just got engaged and will hold an intimate wedding next month with their family and close friends. Before their announcement, the actress gave a *hint* by following a wedding photographer on Instagram.
